Sudipto Sen is an Indian film director known for his work in Bengali and Hindi cinema.[1] He directed various films and short films such as Divya Dutta starring Lucknow Times,[2] The Last Monk,[3] The Kerala Story[4][5][6] and upcoming Bollywood movie Bastar: The Naxal Story.[7]
Early life and education
Sudipto Sen was born in a Sen Brahmin family in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal.[8] He has a bachelor's in physics and a master's in Applied Psychology from University of Calcutta.[9]
Film career
Sudipto Sen started his career in 2006, he directed his first film “The Last Monk". Later, he directed many films and short films like Lucknow Times, Gurujana,[10] in 2023, he directed The Kerala Story,[11][12] which earned Rs 238 crore,[13] making it one of highest grossing film of the year.[14] Recently he begun work on Saharasri, a biopic on Subrata Roy the founder of Sahara India Pariwar produced by Jayantilal Gada of Pen India Limited[15][16] and also started shooting of Bastar: The Naxal Story.[17][18]
