Etymology

Probably from Azerbaijani cəngəl (undergrowth, brushwood; thicket of tall mountain grass), from Persian جنگل (jangal, forest, thicket). Azerbaijani /d͡ʒ/ is pronounced as /ʒ/ in western dialects.
